Before the web boom: Started out working with business to provide teletext and videotext content management for local authorities, business and TV channels. Previous work starts with the Prestel service, private Videotext service for the AA, through Sky Sports Text, National Geographic Text, and on to assisting in management of the CNBC Europe web site (design by Capsmedia) and Teletext services (design by Data Design).

After the web boom: Working closely with professional design agencies to provide a high quality service at a sensible price to many companies, there were still small businesses missing the opportunity of getting on the web for the first time. On talking to local businesses Something Special decided to offer an affordable, simple, friendly service to help people make the first step into getting their business seen on the web.
